Read the Tibetan horoscope and discover the Buddhist zodiac animals and elements that guide your spiritual life.
The Tibetan Horoscope arises from the fusion of Indian astrology (Jyotish), Chinese astrology and the Buddhist spiritual tradition. It uses 12 animals and five elements, but integrates them with the cosmology of karma and the wheel of existence. Each person has a lunar animal and a birth element that define not only personality, but also karmic tendencies and the spiritual practices best suited to them.
Tibetan astrology —called Tsi (rTsis) in Tibetan— is one of the most complete systems: it integrates four streams into a single doctrinal body. It draws on Kalachakra astrology (of Indo-Tibetan origin), the Karsi system (similar to the Chinese), Jungtsi mathematics (element calculations) and Yangcharma astrology (of body and life).
The monk-astrologers of Tibet use these systems to calculate the personal horoscope, favourable days to begin projects, karmic protection rituals, couple compatibility and optimal moments for spiritual practice. It is astrology that is deeply operational and spiritual: it does not only tell you who you are, but what practices suit your nature.
The 12 animals are the same as the Asian zodiac with Tibetan names: jiwa (rat), lang (ox), tag (tiger), yo (hare), druk (dragon), drul (snake), ta (horse), luk (sheep), tre (monkey), jya (rooster), khyi (dog), phag (pig).
The five Tibetan elements —wood, fire, earth, iron/metal, water— are associated with colours, directions and practices. The Tibetan interpretation also adds the 9 me-wa (magic number squares) and the 8 par-kha (trigrams) to refine the portrait further. The AI calculates your animal, element and sign with this richness of layers.
