The four astronomical transitions are calculated from the Sun. Other festivals use 1 February, 1 May, 1 August and 31 October in the north; in the south, 1 February, 30 April, 1 August and 31 October, with celebrations shifted half a cycle.

How to use it

Choose a year from 1900 to 2099 and your hemisphere. Select a celebration on the wheel or list. Equinoxes and solstices show UTC times; the other four dates are calendar conventions. Change year and hemisphere within the result.

Reading your result

Use the gestures as personal suggestions without needing ritual objects. In tropical regions, wet and dry seasons may describe your surroundings better. A conventional date does not mean every community celebrates that day.
