Rose quartz

Rose quartz is the pink variety of quartz, of soft pink colour due to traces of titanium, manganese and iron. The most popular stone in modern crystal therapy for love work in all its forms: self-love, compassion, romantic love, friendship, healing of wounded heart. Direct stone of the heart chakra.

Origin and tradition

Rose quartz has been valued since antiquity. Ancient Egyptians used it for cosmetic and esoteric purposes — believing in its rejuvenating properties for the skin (still today is ingredient in some creams and rollers used in beauty rituals). Greeks and Romans also valued it: the legend recounts that the rose quartz colour comes from blood mixing with the divine blood of Aphrodite or Eros (the variants vary), making the stone eternal symbol of love.

Major modern deposits: Brazil, Madagascar, India, USA. Rose quartz is generally not transparent crystals but massive milky cloudy (semi-translucent) — the so-called "true" rose quartz. There are very rare crystallised pink quartzes (transparent pink crystals), much more expensive and difficult to find.

Esoteric properties

In modern crystal therapy, rose quartz is the stone par excellence for: 1) Self-love — fundamental basis of any other healthy love. Many therapists recommend rose quartz for those who struggle with self-criticism, self-rejection, lack of self-care. 2) Romantic love — to heal love wounds, to attract a healthy partner (NOT to attract a specific person — that violates free will), to deepen existing relationship. 3) Universal compassion — opens the heart towards others, develops authentic empathy. 4) Friendship and family relations — heals family conflicts, deepens healthy friendships.

5) Healing of childhood wounds — the rose quartz is gentle and non-aggressive, allowing slow gentle healing of emotional wounds rooted in childhood. 6) Forgiveness — to release accumulated grudges (toward others or self). 7) Emotional vulnerability healthy — stone of those who learn to open the heart again after being hurt. Heart chakra opens slowly with consistent quartz work.

How to use it

1) For self-love: place a rose quartz on the chest while breathing deeply 10-15 min daily; repeat affirmations of self-love mentally; let yourself feel the energy. 2) For attracting partner: place a rose quartz in the love sector of your bedroom (according to Feng Shui, the SW corner); work on yourself with the stone before "asking for someone outside". 3) For healing love wound: sleep with the rose quartz under the pillow during the active healing period; let the stone "absorb" the night by night pain. 4) As personal jewellery: pendant near the heart, ring, bracelet — daily contact deepens the work. 5) Periodic cleansing: monthly minimum (smoke, salt water, full moon — avoid prolonged sun, loses colour).
